Every year I kill myself to put together holiday cards to send to friends and family and every year I question if it is worth it.
My holiday card packages are a bit intense. I have a family newsletter that I include with all the big events that happened to us through the year and I also included a picture of the kids. This means that I have to write the update letter and print it on holiday paper, get pictures of the kids taken and have them developed, sign all the cards with 5 names, stick the address labels on including return address labels, put it all together with a stamp and get them in the mail by a reasonable time in December. This takes considerable time and makes me crazy.
Every year I swear that this will be the last year!
No one really cares about getting a card in the mail anymore, right?
Then I get a text message from someone who mentions they cant wait to receive our card and update letter. A few days after sending the cards I get an email from an Aunt who we don’t see very often and she tell me how happy she was to receive the card in the mail. She really enjoys reading about our year because it helps her connect with us over the miles.
