I would like to ask how a night doula works and how much it costs. My baby is a boy born on May 30th. He is relatively calm in the afternoon, but cries a lot at night. These past few days, my partner and I haven’t been able to sleep at night. The baby also spits up frequently. Although I’ve looked up reasons why babies cry, I still can’t tell whether his crying is due to gas, hunger, or something else. I would like some guidance and help during the night.

Congratulations on your baby boy, and thank you for your comment.
What you’re describing is very common in the early weeks. It can be difficult to tell whether crying is related to hunger, gas, reflux, overtiredness, or simply adjusting to life outside the womb.
A postpartum night doula provides overnight support by helping care for baby between feeds, offering guidance on soothing and settling techniques, supporting feeding goals, and helping parents get much-needed rest and reassurance.
At Helping Hands Doula, overnight support is booked in minimum 8-hour shifts. We’d be happy to help you explore what support might look like for your family.
